Colfe's Triumphs in swimming galas

Colfe’s has won both of its first Junior Galas of the term.

Head of Swimming Sarah Manzi said, “Pupils from Years 4-6 hosted a gala against Oakfield, Farringtons, Breaside and Merton Court with Colfe’s coming in first place , 6 points in front of Merton Court and over 100 points ahead of 6th place. Well done to everyone who took part with special mention to Leo walker, Alex Edwards, Noemie Klanga. Grace Turner and Gabby Noyce (Year 4) who all swam up an age group for the Year 5 relays.

“Colfe’s swimmers also performed strongly last week against Bickley Park, Farringtons and Breaside in the Year 6 Relay Gala. This meant that swimmers were able to swim all four strokes giving them experience in events they may not usually swim in.

“It was great to see our pupils Myra Sah, Pavithra Calidas, Eleanor Walsh and Adelaide Brokenshire who are new to competing giving 100% effort throughout the gala and putting in some wonderful swims. We were met with tough competition from individuals in all three opposing schools with Bickley Park boys putting in a strong performance across all their events. Well done especially to Colfe’s Gold boys’ team, Rohan Hiran, Zachary Kirkman, Daniel Li Yim and Jacob Walker who won every relay finishing over 5m ahead of the opposition.

With great performances from all our swimmers it is impossible to mention all the highlights, special mention goes to India Fuller Griffin for her fast paced backstroke win and Joshua Wright and Jack Murphy who swam up an age group putting in outstanding swims. Overall results put Colfe’s in first place with 95 points, Farringtons second with 87 and Breaside third with 56.
